Re: what music do you think is good?

Ah, that's too bad. Care to expand on this one?
I think his music is sub-par and nothing to write home about.
Doesn't help that he's a jerk, too.

YES!!!!!!! awesome awesome awesome!
PLAYS IT FOR THE QUADRILLIONTH TIME! It's sooooo gooooood!
ZOMG anything from DJ Hidden - Death From A Distance EP at the moment! weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
I love that quick jump to defense for Chisel Anelko9 hahahahaha!
to those guys that gave me props for listening to Mark of Cain. I had a week at that time where I listened to all of their albums and eps and singles constantly for a few days. I forgot how great Battlesick was for it's Joy Division moments. for me Ill At Ease was their pinnacle except for the milo tin snare sound on that album but that's more because of the drummer they used for it.
I love Dev/Null's stuff myself but I can understand being put off by jerkness Thallium. personally I think Venetian Snares is way overrated.
last few days listening habits:
Primus - Suck on this
Jesu - Conquerer (yes I'm still listening to it it's Jesu you idiot! Jesu! Jesu! what do you mean you never heard em? you peasant! get on your knees and apologise to Justin right now! go easy on them oh lord Broadrick, they now what they speak of)
Bomb20 - Reality surpasses fiction
DJ Arse N All - Invasion Day Party Mix
Sigur Ros - first album
Curve
Red Aunts - Number One Chicken
Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante
you'll have to show me some of this jesu. isis are supporting them at the moment in the US, yeah? - they certainly put a pretty kickarse show on recently in adelaide.
and word, mr. bungle! haven't listened to any of that for ages... will have to re-rip my CD (somewhere!).
haven't gotten any new music for a while, so for the last week or so, been revisiting some of my older music:
cex - tall dark & handcuffed, & being ridden (there's something oddly soothing about cex's wailing and whiteboy rapping)
vsnares - hospitality (it's interesting... but i'm still not sure what i think)
aphex twin - analord (they grow on you over time, didn't like most of them initially)
nine inch nails - various "leaks" of year zero tracks ('no im not' and 'in this twilight' are good, the rest i'm unimpressed with and sound more like with_teeth drivel)
snog - snog vs the faecal blah blah (give me early snog anyday!)
tim koch - faena (think it's some of his best work to date)
still have a huge stack of wax bought recently i haven't even listened to once yet... living in between homes at the moment means my decks aren't setup.
Mark of Cain - Battlesick
HAHA I remember in about 1993/4 having my friends drag me along to some club in Glenelg to see them play with Clowns of Decadence. We snuck in through the back exit when a bouncer wasn't looking....I really wish I had been caught and thrown out.
Stuff that I am really into at the moment...well in the lead up to and post mania of Lenny Dee, lots of Hardcore. Mainly:
Ophidian
Catscan
Drokz
Wedlock
DOA
Nasenbluten
Latex Empire
I tried Drumcorps but couldn't stand the death metal elements *shudder*
...and then some IDM to stop me from dancing around with my headphones on at tram stops:
Plumbline
Wisp
Bola
mimetic
mlada fronta
Other stuff that is on my good list at the moment:
SOMATIC RESPONSES - YAY
Dev/Null
Epsilon
Dysphemic
Xian
(is it at all obvious that I am procrastinating from doing work?)
Godflesh - Hymns
Jesu - Conquerer
Cex - Live in Baltimore (bootleg)
new Noistruct tracks rescued from laptop
watched lately:
Sexy Beast (awesome!)
Adaptation (crap)
The 25th Hour (awesome!)
I Heart Huckabees (crap)
I had someone burn me a Venetian Snares album recently,
This one a little different from his usuall stuff.
He colaborates with classical instruments, double bass and violin.
Can anyone do me the pleasure of naming the album for me?
Really amazing...
Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett ?
pelt - vhf#90
riou - exhibition of the samples
edition - xv
moljebka pvlse - sadalmelik
converter/asche/morgenstern - erode
nurse with wound - shipwreck radio vol.2
limewax - scars on the horizon
ed rush/trace/nico - mad different methods
obliterati 04 - everything you feel is laced with fucking lies
current value/SPL - brainwash/ghost kill whitelabel

Xian - Great playlist except for that last one!
Ya cheeky bugger! hehehe! xx
im listening 2 it now!
both the boxcutter and distance albums you listed are freaking fanstastic
have been playing both ALOT lately
- New Dying Fetus is pretty mad, a fair few old school Blood Duster moments.
- Naked City
- Maladroit
- Husker Du, particularly Zen Arcade
- Tumbleweed, for nostalgic singalongs.
converter/asche/morgenstern - erode
A friend gave me a copy of this one yesterday. Enjoying it so far. I really dig power noise / whatever people call it, but I only listen to a handful of artists as I'm gradually finding that with this genre there's a lot of crap, and very few decent producers (most of which are on ant-zen).

Here are some which stand out for me (in no particular order)...some are more breaky, some are more IDM'y...some are just crazy
Mlada Fronta
Mimetic
Reset
Ammo
Imminent Starvation
Converter
Axiom (the Rictus CD)
Punch Inc
Iszoloscope
Black Lung
Asche
Synapscape
Azure Skies (the Crater track on their self titled CD is one of my all-time favorite tracks ever)
Hypnoskull
Noisex
Celluloid Mata
Kate Mosh (Dynamo CD rocks)
Panacea (not really powernoise, but awesome anyways)
And of course Somatic Responses
If you are likely to go hunting for all this stuff on soulseek just let me know and I will save you the time by making you a DVD of mp3's. But of course if you like it buy it ![]()
A DVD of powernoise stuff would be fantastic; I'm only familiar with a handful off that list. I enjoy Mono No Aware as well. Though most of his stuff doesn't seem to reach anywhere near the level of an artist like Converter, I like his dirty, crusty sound. OK, terrible description, but I don't know how else to put it.
